I bought this simple wing chair at a garage sale
for a mere ten dollas
Having never upholstered a chair before I found my heels dragging in a most annoying way.
I usually dive right in, but the thought of taking this chair apart then and putting it all back together had me stymied.
So this little chair just sat, and sat, and
sat in the garage,
in the way, in my face,
every time I went in there, ugh
Stop looking at me little chair
Until finally, one day when I was not much good
for anything mentally strenuous,
I decided to go for it and dive right in.
After all, this chair only cost ten dollars.
What was the worst that could happen?
I found the whole process kind of interesting.
Who knew that's how a chair is made.
With a bunch of staples and cardboard?
Kind of cool, huh
Now, I'm fairly certain that a chair of
higher quality probably doesn't contain as much cardboard...
shhh, I won't tell if you don't
for my use this will do just fine
I decided I was just going to have fun with it.
Not much planning went on and it really was fun
(after I removed the hundreds of staples).
I ended up just playing around with scraps of fabric I had leftover from this and that. I even took my giant roll of jute webbing and cut that up for trim.
I've still got to do some touch-up and you are quite humble...
But I gotta say, I really love you little chair.
We're good together, a little bit imperfect
but, kind of silly and fun
There's just one thing missing
A sweet little ottoman
Oh well, let's take a break for today
a book, and
and a cup of tea later
