The Good Thing and Goldilocks

My sweetheart darling daughter
surprised me with this vintage cocktail set I had been coveting since here
The color is so divine, I just love it!
Now I need to find a nice vintage bar cart

Supposedly, per the consignor, the brass or brass like holder was made by a guy who had something to do with the underwire bra?   hmmm..Antiques Roadshow here I come!

That's the Good Thing.

Here's the Goldilocks...

I've been comparing pictures of bed pillows in search of the

perfect combination of comfort and practicality.

This one is neat and crisp.  No wrinkles, that won't work.

I love this bedroom but it would be a project to take a nap here.
And we do take naps, well more like he takes naps.
There are six pillows in the back, three euros in front,
plus two more.

I also love this room all styled and pretty.
Probably three euros in the back,
then two, and then decorative pillows.
I know I'd be too lazy to remove the shams every night.

This is quite pretty and easy looking.
Looks like nice pillowcases or shams
on regular king or queen size pillows.

Here's another one with regular sleeping pillows
 with super nice pillowcases.
What's a girl to do?

and another nice mix with decorative and sleeping pillows.

Ok, this has one does have three euros and lots of pillows but it still looks simple.  Maybe it's the ticking.

Love this - Rachel Ashwell
How does she make wrinkles look so good.
Ready for a nap and a book

I like the pillows and love the use of one oversize painting

I like this configuration too.

For me some of these beds are too neat, or too wrinkled or too much work with too many pillows.
I need to figure out which will be just right

I was psyched to find the Provence Stripe linen duvet
from Restoration Hardware on super sale.
I should've anticipated the linen would have a rumpled look.
If you want a crisp, ironed look
this is not your bedding.

Even though it wrinkles easily I'm finding
I like the softness and natural texture.

I also sewed and sewed and sewed, did I say sewed my fingers off on a gathered bedskirt of ticking
and made a few pillows from my fabric stash.
(it all needs some fluffing and a few stitches)
I'd been holding on to that floral for years and just couldn't toss it.
It's obvious I've been loving that greeney blue for quite some time.

There are those wrinkles.
Why do those wrinkles in the styled rooms look so great?

I think I'll ditch the two standard sized pillows and get
four new king pillows with nice new pillowcases.
Maybe with some nice stitching, border, or a flange?
I guess I better finish stuffing my toss pillow too.

For now I'll keep working on my art, or should I say splotches in progress, and will hopefully stumble on the perfect thing when I least expect it.

These rooms are so pretty and in the same color way

Maybe a pop of pink to brighten things up!
