I've been a little late catching on to the
whole Hey Girl craze
whole Hey Girl craze
but I have to say they've given me some great laughs.
(If you're late to this like me, just google Hey Girl)
I decided I had to have a little hey girl fun of my own.
In between laughing at the hey girls I finished up
the little round ottoman to go with my
scrappy little chair.

It really is adorable and I'm in love with
the idea of being able to switch out fabrics whenever I please.

Slip covering is the way to go!
The possibilities are endless and it's a
project that doesn't require a ton of fabric to get a completely new look.

You can read about the initial construction here
After you complete the construction part
the next step is to add the batting.
I cut a top circle out of batting by tracing the foam.
Do the same for the side.
I pinned and then cut right on

Then just sew the side to the edges
of the circle on top.

Lastly, pull to the bottom and staple
underneath to secure
the batting.
I only had a weird leftover piece of the
floral fabric so I really had to piece the
slipcover together without worrying
about pattern placement.
I did the same construction for the slipcover.
Cut the circle top, pinned and cut the side...
and then added a little linen flange.

You did totally rock it! Listen to Ryan!
ReplyDeleteHey Maureen,
ReplyDeleteGotta love those hey girls. There are some really funny ones out there! I wonder if Ryan is aware of the phenomenon??
Thanks for stopping by Garden House Living and for all the great compliments. Your ottoman is adorable and slipcovers are the way to go!! I used that same fabric on my bedroom a few years back, it washes wonderfully so it is the perfect slip fabric. You do rock!!!!
