We've had various versions of house numbers
on both our mailbox and house over the years.
They've either fallen off,
been removed and never replaced,
or spirited away by spirited teenagers.
Mostly we've had various versions of
brass house numbers.
We really need a new front door so
embellishing our current door
is not the best option.
I fell in love with the color and style
of this simple wood plaque the
minute I saw it.
I also happened to have an oval
piece of artwork to re-purpose.
Yay, upcycle.
Step 1 - Start mixing
In the spirit of instant gratification!
Get the color right and add
some grout to make it chalky
I like it!
Looks good...
Print out some numbers
and
start tracing.
Hang numbers and admire your work!
I think the scale works well
and I have another little plaque
to finish for the mailbox.

A few years back I found a fort in
the woods next to our house.
It was the greatest little hideout and I
was envious of it's youthful ingenuity.
In it were a bunch of house numbers
nailed to a tree.
While I don't condone stealing I will
say that I loved the secret little hideaway
and was more than happy
and was more than happy
to have sacrificed my house numbers
for such an adventurous
escape!
For an amazing dose of youthful adventure
see Moonrise Kingdom
and
p.s. to whom it may concern,
please let me enjoy my new numbers
for just a little bit, please...
