A few weeks ago I stumbled
upon this chair at a garage sale for $4.
Even though it's in rough shape
The lines are good and it has potential.
Kind of like me!
I'll have to deal with the
lack of a back but haven't
quite decided whether I should
add an upholstered back,
or do something like this which is
crazy inventive and cool.

This is the look I'm going for.
You gotta love ticking.
It's inexpensive, available everywhere,
and just plain crisp.
I've got it pretty much stripped and prepped.
First I put a coat of raw umber acrylic paint.
Then I just grabbed some white paint
and added some black.
I ended up with a chalky bluish gray.
The cushion will be ticking with blue cording.
I think it's going to shape up pretty well
and be a nice little chair for my daughter's
off campus house. As I was walking
off with my $4 chair a passing lady said
"You're not really gonna tackle
that chair?"
I just smiled and said to myself
Yes I am harrumph...
and it's gonna be awesome!

We're going to do drop cloth drapes with
I just love this kind of project.
There' no pressure so we
can really experiment and
take risks with things.
I hope to finish the chair this week and
