Apple Cider, Ebay, and Frank Gehry

What a glorious parents weekend in Red Hook, NY

This is the view right outside of my daughters dorm.
It is mere steps away, as in fifty feet or so!
Bard College commissioned architect Frank Gehry to design their performing arts center.
It looks like a giant sea creature or spaceship rising out of the fall countryside.  very cool...

The Guggenheim in Spain, also by Gehry

More views, More sculpture right out the back door.  Lucky kid!

We managed to wind our way south to the Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park for a tour and then back through Rhinebeck for Dinner at the Liberty Public House.

Rhinebeck is so charming with it's lovely main street, quaint shops, and restaurants.  I will certainly visit again!

What a great weekend.  I even managed to win two vintage sconces on ebay for just $58.
I'll put them along side my rustic TV frame.

I really love the stained wood with the crystal.

I found so many pretty sconces on ebay

There's something about these I like

here

a little more money at $275 but really pretty

$150 on these, love that brass
So many great choices on ebay it's hard to stick to the plan!
